As a guest at Tanglewood Resort, you’ll have a variety of premier accommodations. Choose from guest rooms with beautiful views of Lake Texoma or villas that are spacious and fully equipped with all the trappings of home. Regardless of your choice, you’ll find each one relaxing, comfortable, and rife with amenities. And they are all just steps away from almost everything the resort offers. Tanglewood’s hotel accommodations feature newly refurbished rooms equipped with a king or double queen beds, a microwave, a lounge chair, a mini-fridge, a desk, and a flat screen TV. Other amenities include a coffee maker, an iron, and a hair dryer. We stayed in a massive one-bedroom villa with big-screen TVs, a working gas fireplace, and a large jacuzzi bathtub! There was also a coffee maker with complimentary coffee! Tanglewood Resort has three dining venues. The 19th Hole Grill in the golf clubhouse, Lakeside Restaurant, and The Tanglewood Bar and Grill in the main building. One amenity that brings a lot of guests to the resort is the Arnold Palmer-designed championship golf course. Palmer teamed with renowned architect Ralph Plummer to design the original golf course at Tanglewood Resort and opened it for play in 1970. It’s a fun and challenging layout that offers five sets of tees and can be played anywhere from the Forward Tees at 5,017 yards to the Championship Tees at 6,993 yards. For the most part, fairway landing areas off the tee are wide open, and while sand bunkers don’t seem to be plentiful, they seem to be strategically placed, and the water and wind play a big part. The course features lush Bermuda fairways that lead to beautiful Diamond Zyosia greens. Tanglewood was the first full-length golf course in the country to install eco-friendly Diamond Zoysia grass. This Zyosia hybrid grass was developed by renowned turf expert Dr. Milt Engelke and his team at Texas A&M and thrives in the Texas summer heat with little rainfall. As a result, Tanglewood has some of the best greens in the state. If you’re playing from the back tees, the first two holes can be a tough way to start. These par 4s play 414 and 444 yards respectively. Move up to the Middle Tees and they’re a manageable 351 and 357 yards. I didn’t run into any trouble off the tees and was able to get off to a good start. The 6th hole is the first par 5 and is a carbon copy of the dogleg left, 2nd hole, only considerably longer. Bunkers on either side near the green will keep you honest. There’s a good chance to go low here! There’s a noticeable elevation change on the 376-yard, par-4, 9th hole. From an elevated tee box, you’ll play downhill towards a dogleg left and then uphill to the green. Be sure to hit an extra club on approach. Number 18 is a fun finishing hole. It’s a sweeping dogleg right par 5 that plays 437 yards from the Middle Tees. Be sure to keep your tee shot left as there is a large lake that catches balls hit right. A good drive will leave a decision to go for the green in two, although it may be a tough ask. The green plays back uphill and is guarded in front by a couple of deep, nasty pot bunkers. Approach shots that don’t quite reach the green have a good chance of rolling back. In the event you run out of daylight hours to settle your bets on the golf course, you can carry on indoors on Tanglewood’s golf simulator. Pull up one of the preprogrammed courses and hit away. You can also use it to help improve some of those shots that cost you money! Tanglewood has a lot to offer non-golfers. For starters, pickleballers can enjoy a lively game on one of the resort’s eight new pickleball courts. Then, there’s Lake Texoma, where you can spend the day Striper fishing, water skiing, paddle boarding, boating, or just soaking in some rays. If you prefer a swimming pool, Tanglewood has three outdoor pools, an indoor pool, and a hot tub.

Tanglewood Resort is a solid getaway. The staff is always great and the pools are consistently fun. The rooms are pretty outdated, but the overall experience still makes it an enjoyable place to stay—especially if you’re there to relax and have a good time.

We stayed in the recently renovated building. It is very nice. The shower was amazing!! There was lots of pressure but gentle. The whole unit was roomy. With 3 adults, it was great to have a king and 2 queen beds. Lots to explore. We will be back next year.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love Tanglewood Resort! It has that vintage, classic charm that makes it feel nostalgic the minute you walk in. The views of Lake Texoma are unbelievable and the golf course is such a huge perk — it feels like a hidden retreat right here close to home. The indoor pool and hot tub are perfect for the Winter months, and the outdoor pool and bars are amazing when the weather is warm. There’s truly something for every season! I will say — I’d love to see a few updates in the near future to bring some fresh, modern touches while keeping that original charm that makes this place special. But even with that, it’s still one of my favorite places to stay and relax. I highly recommend — booking a guided fishing trip on beautiful Lake Texoma and experiencing all that Texoma has to offer! Highport Marina and The Island Bar are my favorite places to hangout!

We had an impromptu girls trip and although the hotel was a little outdated, it was still a great time. The pool is a total vibe at night and a good mix of adult/family fun. The restaurants are decent. It’s definitely overpriced bar food but we didn’t come for fine dining. All in all this place was an insanely cheap room for the amount of fun we had.

I spent Mother's Day here with my family. 5 pools and a hot tub. The lake was overflowing so a lot of the extra amenities were not usable. However, we still had a great time enjoying the beautiful scenery and awesome accommodations. I would recommend u come see the beautiful area I got to grow up in. Did I mention I was the night conference manager many many many many years ago!! I'm a computer nerd now living my dreams but my humble beginnings are what made me great!!

My date made reservations for us at the Lakeside Restaurant at Tanglewood Resort and when we arrived we learned it was closed for the season. That could have easily turned into a disappointing evening but Connie immediately stepped in and took ownership of the situation. Without hesitation she arranged a complimentary dinner for us at the Bar and Grill and made us feel completely valued as guests. Jamie then took care of us and she was outstanding. She was running the entire grill and still delivered flawless service. She was attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming. The food was five star quality and her service matched it. Even while managing multiple responsibilities she never looked overwhelmed and never let the experience slip. What impressed me most was her leadership presence. Jamie did not just serve tables. She ran the room with confidence and excellence. That level of performance deserves recognition and growth. She is absolutely a keeper and someone who represents Tanglewood at a high level. Because of Connie’s quick action and Jamie’s exceptional service we will absolutely continue returning to Tanglewood Resort. This is how hospitality should be done.
